Our Story

"Life is simply pawsome with a dog by your side!" In our case, we have double the joy with our two furballs, Derby and Oaks. Each day, we come home to a whirlwind of wagging tails and slobbery kisses, filling our hearts with delight. From their very first day with us, Derby and Oaks have been dressed to impress, sporting stylish outfits and matching accessories—let's just say they have a toy collection that could rival a small store! We also adore finding quirky dog-themed treasures that make us chuckle, but those gems can be elusive. So, we thought, why not launch a shop that puts today's stylish pups and their humans in the spotlight?

With Derby and Oaks cheering us on, we took the plunge and opened The Dog Shop in November 2021, right in the vibrant NuLu District of Louisville. You’ll quickly notice we’re not your run-of-the-mill pet store. Our offerings are a delightful mix of exclusive, thoughtfully curated products from small businesses and emerging brands. Plus, we’ve got access to the latest, online-only trends, allowing you to experience the fit, feel, and quality of our goodies firsthand.
